Pepa Reverter

Pepa Reverter graduated in engraving at the School of Applied Arts Llotja, followed by a degree in sculpture at the Faculty of Barcelona of fine arts, and finally a Masters in video and television at the Polytechnic University in Barcelona. Her academic preparation ranges from some of the oldest forms of communication to the most modern, a journey bound by the timeless need to make sense of the world through art and stories. She works for Jaume Coscuella and Magí Baleta, engravers of the work of Joan Miró, Jaume Plensa, Xavier Grau and Garcia Sevilla.

She worked as a visual artist, illustrator, designer, ceramist, professor, photographer, videographer; Pepa Reverter works at TV3, illustrating for the International Herald Tribune, drawing pieces of ceramics for Bosa, design for BD Barcelona and many other roles in between. He frequently collaborates with his partner, the creative director of the power plant, Ramón Ubeda, with whom he created his fantastic shared space in the @ 22 district of Barcelona.

Her work is stimulating, it can strike with a distinct social message, with a fierce and feminine energy. Her “Sisters Collection” of female heads combines elegant shapes, sculptures and delicately rendered finishes that pay tribute to women of all cultures. Her Sisters, women artists and activists are Louise Bourgeois, Frida Kahlo, Helen Frankenthaler and Clara Campoamor, representing many of the key themes of Pepa Reverter’s work. Each piece begins as a sketch, then a painting, before being realized as a vase or as a sculpture, a process that allows you to experiment long and explore the multiple meanings that the “sisters” represent in form and meaning.

Pepa Reverter’s creativity has a purpose, the purpose is what motivates his explorations with color and form, creating a mood, invoking a memory or mixing an emotion.
